"Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God." – Exodus 3:1
Moses’ life seemed to take a detour after he fled Egypt. He went from being a prince to a shepherd, spending 40 years in the wilderness tending sheep. To some, it might have looked like God had abandoned His promise to deliver Israel. But God wasn’t giving up on Moses—He was preparing him.
When Moses finally stood before Pharaoh, he wasn’t the same man who fled Egypt. He was shaped by his time in the wilderness, equipped to lead God’s people out of slavery and toward the Promised Land.
Here’s the truth: what looks like a delay isn’t always denial. Often, it’s God’s preparation for His promises. In the wilderness, God builds strength, faith, and character so that when the time comes, you’re ready to step into your destiny.
The point is: “Delay doesn’t mean denial. Sometimes it’s just God preparing you for His promise.”
