As Christian’s, it should be our goal and desire to be more like Christ.

We should desire to walk talk and act like He did while he was on this earth. Obviously we have and will fall short of this goal. But it should be our hearts desire to do better today than we did yesterday and to grow closer to Him. With that being said my question for you today is simple.

Do you sound like Jesus?

Or do you sound like the world?

Does your life, your actions, words, and thoughts resemble that of Jesus or that of the world?

In Mathew ch. 26 verse 73 and 74, we find Peter about to deny knowing Jesus for the third time. But the people who approach him have a specific reason for asking him if he was one of the ones walking with Jesus.

“And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.” Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.” Matthew 26:73-74 NKJV

They tell him “your speech betrays you”. He sounded like Jesus, even as he denied him. Even when he was trying to not be noticed and trying not to be discovered, they could still tell that he was a disciple. Peter had to begin cursing and swearing and proclaim that he didn’t know the Man. He had to put on a show and try his hardest to convince them that he was not who they thought he was. That he was not a disciple. My fear is that there are to many “Christians” today that are the exact opposite as Peter. They have to make a big commotion and swear up and down that they do in fact know Christ, when in reality they don’t know Him at all.

My prayer and challenge for you today, is that you would take a deep look at yourself and your relationship with Jesus, and personally answer the question “do I sound like Jesus, or do I sound like the world”.
